Focus on our suppliers: Wonderful, local Wessex Mill flour

Wessex Mill has been a supplier to Natural Bread for many years now. The small family flour mill is based in Wantage and four generations of the Munsey family have been milling in Oxfordshire for over 100 years. The flour is milled using local, high quality wheat that is carefully selected and collected from farms surrounding the mill. Wessex Mill uses a traditional roller mill process as opposed to the more modern energy intensive method used by other flour mills. This means that the Wessex Mill flour doesn’t heat up as much as in other flour mills preventing the protein in the grains from damage.

 

 At Natural Bread we make all our own wonderful breads using Wessex Mill flour fresh each day in our Botley bakery, without any additives. A selection of Wessex Mill flours in 1.5kg bags is also available to buy from our bakery shops and cafés in Oxford City, Woodstock and Eynsham.
